Naturopathic Medicine
Naturopathic Doctors are trained to use a number of modalities. For each patient, we select the treatments that may be best for that specific individual and the conditions they are experiencing. Sometimes we may need to use a few different approaches to try and help you achieve your healing goals.
Below is a brief overview of the services we offer and a sample of some conditions they can treat. If you are wanting acupuncture or reiki services, book an appointment with Dr. Hannah, ND.

Holistic Nutrition
Holistic nutrition approaches health and healing from a whole-person perspective. Through a holistic approach to nutrition, emphasis is placed on each person, and their health goals and requirements individually.
Working with a holistic nutritionist to address specific health concerns and goals will include the consideration of nutrition, supplement, and lifestyle habits. Using whole, good quality foods is the basis for holistic nutrition programs, with special attention to lifestyle and supplemental practices to support a healthy lifestyle

Conditions: digestive concerns, chronic pain, menopause, weight management, diabetes, eczema, migraines, liver disease, psoriasis, chronic fatigue, and several inflammatory conditions

Acupuncture
&
Traditional Chinese Medicine
An ancient approach that focuses on balancing the flow of energy, known as chi, throughout the pathways (or meridians) of the body. This includes the use of acupuncture, cupping, and traditional chinese herbs. There has been a lot of research to support the effectiveness of this modality in the treatment of many conditions.

Conditions: Acute/chronic pain, injuries, anxiety, sleep problems, muscular recovery, low energy, menstrual issues and struggles with fertility

Lifestyle Counselling
With lifestyle counselling we try to address all aspects of a person's life because that is part of treating the whole individual. We identify and address potential obstacles of healing and sources of stress or harm to the body. This may include mental, emotional, physical or environmental aspects of one's life. We aim to help motivate patients to make effective and healthy lifestyle choices. This is an essential part of treatments, that helps to maintain healing long-term. Some examples are: exercise, meditation, mindfulness, stress-reduction, journalling or self-expression, self-care and doing things you love.

Most conditions involve some lifestyle counselling, but can be especially important for: chronic illness, mental illness or mood disorders, high stress, diabetes, weight management and sleep problems.
Botanical Medicine
Involves using the nutrients and healing properties of plants medicinally; in the form of teas, tinctures, or capsules. The concentrations are lower than that of pharmaceuticals, so there are generally fewer side effects than are found in conventional medications. Naturopaths are well educated in the potential interactions between these preparations and medications; to ensure you may use them safely and effectively.
Conditions: Hormone imbalances (ie. fertility, menopause, thyroid conditions or menstrual issues), metabolic conditions, inflammation, cardiovascular health, digestive issues, sleep problems, anxiety, depression, fatigue and immune system regulation.
Diagnostic Testing
Naturopathic Doctors are equipped with the skills required to perform physical exams and are able to requisition advanced laboratory testing. This helps us to accurately identify underlying concerns and confirm diagnoses. Doing so, allows us to safely provide you with more effective treatments.

Examples: Basic blood work, nutritional deficiencies, thyroid function, food sensitivity testing, hormone panels and pap tests.

Conditions: Diabetes, kidney dysfunction, liver disease, digestive issues or IBS, low energy, burn out, hormone imbalance, inflammation, and several auto-immune conditions.
Homeopathic Medicine
A gentle healing technique that uses minute dilutions of substances to support the body's "vital force" and strengthen its ability to heal.

Conditions: acute illnesses or ailments, skin conditions, pain, mild mood changes, and several pediatric concerns
